WITCH FALL by AMBER ARGLYLE ~ COVER REVEAL

Witch Fall Cover Reveal

I'm so excited to reveal my latest cover to all of you! I really struggled with the scene to use for the cover, and I'm so glad I went with this one-and thanks to all of your input on the many decisions to be made for this book. I adore the turquoise, reds, and golds. Look at the play of light on the surface of the water. The stone dragons are perfect, as is the palace they guard. Laura Save really outdid herself--and she's such a sweet person! I love working with her.

Witch Fall is the last book in the Witch Song series (though there is a short story in the works). Though it is a prequel, I recommend you read it last. It's due out this October. I'm in the midst of a massive rewrite, and I'm working hard to meet that deadline, if only my children would cooperate. *sigh*

Here's the back cover:

All things fall.

Even Witches.

Supreme in their dominion over seasons, storms and sea, the Witches have forgotten the unmatched destructiveness of mankind—and among the weapons men seek are the magical songs of the Witches.

Lilette is one of the few who sees the signs of decadence and decay within the Witches. An outsider amidst her own kind, can she delay her people's annihilation long enough for them to survive the war that is coming?

For the first twelve years of my life, I lived in a two bedroom ranch house at the base of a mountain. Besides my parents, my family consisted of three brothers--the oldest of which enjoyed beating me up. Ironically, the younger two were terrible wimps. I rode horses, moved sprinkler pipe, and mucked out barns (when they could catch me). We didn't have a lot of money, and the part of the ranch we lived on was eventually repossessed by the bank. Subsequently, we had to move to town (I know. I should have written Westerns).
I graduated from Utah State University with a bachelors degree (English and physical education), a husband, and a two-year old. I was a member of the collegiate honor society and graduated cum laude (which basically means I'm an overachiever).
My second son had severe colic, often crying for 16 hours a day. By the time he was four months old, I was in a very dark place. I discovered that I could prop him up between my arms and type for brief periods of time. Creating stories quickly became a cathartic addiction I couldn't function without.
It took seven manuscripts and five very long years before my debut novel, Witch Song, came out.
I currently live in Northern Utah with my husband and three children.

Review: Witch Song by Amber Argyle (Good vs. Evil)

About author:
Amber Argyle grew up with three brothers on a cattle ranch in the Rocky Mountains. She spent hours riding horses, roaming the mountains, and playing in her family’s creepy barn. This environment fueled her imagination for writing her debut novel.

She has worked as a short order cook, janitor, and staff member in a mental institution. All of which has given her great insight into the human condition and has made for some unique characters.

She received her bachelor’s degree in English and Physical Education from Utah State University.

She currently resides in Utah with her husband and three small children.

You can follow her on:

Paperback, 305 pages
Published September 1st 2011 by Rhemalda Publishing
ISBN 1936850168 (ISBN13: 9781936850167)

About:
The world is changing.

Once, Witch Song controlled everything from the winds to the shifting of the seasons, but not anymore. All the Witches are gone, taken captive by a traitor.

All but Brusenna.

Now the traitor is coming for Brusenna, and ever her guardian can't protect her. Somehow, Brusenna has to succeed where every other Witch has failed. Find the traitor. Fight her. Defeat her.

If Brusenna fails, there won't be anything left to save.

My Thoughts:
I got very wrapped up in this book. It was an action packed adventure about a good witch. Brusenna thought she was ostracized because her mother was a witch. She soon finds out that she is the last witch and has to face and defeat the Dark Witch Espen. She soon finds there are witch friends that are eager to help and protect her on her quest to defeat the Dark Witch. She is assigned a guardian to protect her. This is a fast moving story and I did not want to put it down. It had my adrenaline flowing. I need to stop writing about the book before I spoil the story for you.

The author has an amazing imagination to come up with this brilliant story. At one point in the book she could have stopped writing and I would still have cheered her work. But she kept going beyond brilliance.

It is a young adult, fantasy and is a must read. I am definitely not a young adult and I loved it. I am hoping the author will write a sequel.

Even though this book is a out of my Christian genre I highly recommend you read this book you won't regret it.

I rate this book a 5 out of 5

Book Blogger Hop: 9/9-9/12 Honor 9/11

LET'S HONOR 9/11

What were you doing the day this happened?

I was getting ready for work as it started and was at work all day trying to hold myself together as everyone else around me was doing the same.  I pray for everyone and our country as we remember that earth shattering day ten short years ago.

Voting for Book Blogger Appreciation Week ends on Saturday Sept. 10! Here are the nominees! Now, GO VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITES!

Book Blogger Hop

How it Works
As long as you meet the qualifications of a book blogger, you may add your book blog link into the linky list below. But before you do that, there are a few requirements. Read up, to save yourself a headache with the linky!

1. Before you add your link, you must post about the Hop on your blog and link directly back to THIS POST (not just my domain, but the direct post for this Hop). The linky is going to review the link that you enter in your submission, looking for a link to this post on your blog. If it doesn’t find one, your link will not be approved. This is called back linking and I had to institute it because people were taking advantage of the Hop and getting some free advertising without promoting the Hop themselves. You can read more about this here.

2. While you are creating your post, answer the following question (there’s a new prompt each week)!

Thanks to Lori for this week’s question!

“Many of us primarily read one genre of books, with others sprinkled in. If authors stopped writing that genre, what genre would you start reading? Or would you give up reading completely if you couldn’t read that genre anymore?”
I primarily read Christian Fiction. But if for some reason they stopped writing this genre I would read Historical fiction like The Winter Sea and contemporary romance.  God forbid they ever stop writing Christian Fiction.  I do like some of the Young Adult.  It is the Fantasy that I have difficulty in getting into some are too far fetched for me.  I read The Host and enjoyed it very much. I just found out she has The Soul (Host #2 ) and The Seeker (Host#3) coming out in 2012.  I will be reading both of them.   I am anxious to read Witch Song if I can find a way to work it into my must read book list.
The Host (The Host, #1)Witch Song
The Winter Sea

3. Now it’s time to enter your blog link into the linky below (after the list of instructions!).
Instructions:
  • Click on: You are next – Click here to enter
  • A new page will open
  • In the “Link Title/Blog Title” box, please enter the NAME OF YOUR BLOG and in parentheses after your blog name, please state the main genre that you review (i.e. Crazy-for-Books (contemp. fiction))
  • In the “Link” box, please put a direct link to your blog hop post
    (i.e. http://crazy-for-books.com/2011/08/book-blogger-hop-819-822.html)
  • There is a note about the Back Link requirement. Please make sure you have linked back to this blog hop post in the post on your blog or your link will not be accepted! Be sure to read this important note!
  • Please enter your e-mail address in the box provided in case I need to contact you about your link submission.
  • The list is randomized, so your link will not appear in a specified order. If you are looking for your link, I suggest you do a Ctrl-F on your PC keyboard and type a few letters of your blog name so you can find it easily.
That’s it! Now you can start hopping around, visiting other links in the list, meeting fellow bloggers and chatting about their blogs and books they are reading. If you aren’t a blogger, this is a great opportunity for readers to find new sites to follow and meet some new friends who enjoy reading the same things that they do! I strongly encourage you to take some time to visit these blogs and spend some time with your blog friends. We all work hard on our sites and we enjoy getting company, so let’s read more than just the blog hop post – let’s connect! That’s what the Hop was created for! :) Happy Hopping!
