Seagrass Pier, Hope Beach #3 by Colleen Coble ~ Litfuse Publicity Group

About Book

In a secluded corner of Hope Beach, one woman must decipher a stranger's memories . . . before they cost her everything.

Elin Summerall was one of the lucky ones. Not only did she get a heart transplant, but the donor was a perfect fit. A miraculously perfect fit.

But when Elin begins having violent flashbacks---and vivid dreams of being strangled---she realizes that she has been the recipient of more than just a new heart . . . Elin is remembering her donor's murder.

Her strange affliction has attracted some unwanted attention: from the press, from the authorities . . . and from the killer himself. Now, living alone with her young daughter and aging mother, Elin is being stalked---by a man she's only met in her nightmares.

The police are dubious of her story, but one off-duty FBI agent is eager to help her: Agent Marc Everton, the father of Elin's daughter.

Of course, he doesn't know about that. Yet.

Now, in a remote cottage on Hope Island, Elin and Marc must probe the secrets buried in her borrowed heart. And there's no time to waste. One man is desperate to silence her---before she remembers too much.

About Author

Colleen Coble has sold over 2 million novels worldwide.  Seagrass Pier, the third installment in her acclaimed Hope Beach series, marks a new high point for emotion and complexity in Coble's addictive brand of romantic suspense.

My Thoughts

Elin was on her way to a life of healing not only emotionally but physically since her heart transplant. That is until she started having flashbacks of her donor's murder.  This disrupted her life more than she could bare. She feared the murderer was now after her very own life.

FBI agent, Marc Everton was the only official willing to investigate the case.  He did this due to the fact that he had a connection with Elin in that he was the biological father of Elin's daughter.

WOW! Talk about eerie, this story was riveting, spine tingling and really made me think hard about the implications made by the recipient of the heart.  Still there is romance, mystery, intrigue and much more in this story.  I suggest you keep your lights on, your doors and windows locked while reading this book. You will not want to trust anyone.  Sorry this is coming from my own fear and insecurities. Hee! Hee!

I highly recommend/dare you to read this book.

I rated this book a 5 out of 5.

My Thoughts

Amy Lange has so many wonderful memories of her and her brother, Ben at Rosemary
Cottage and their long hours playing on the beach.  But this year Ben isn't with her at Rosemary Cottage but his memory is here.  Ben lost his life in a surfing accident.  Amy was looking for closure in her brother's death.   She may even move her midwife practice to Hope Island.

Amy can't help but wonder if his death was really caused by an accident.

Curtis Ireland has also lost a sibling, his sister, Gina was was killed in a boating accident. She left something very valuable to Curtis's care, Raine, Gina's daughter.  Curtis will do anything to protect his niece from intruders.  That is until he meets Amy Lange and then his world is turned upside down.  But is that a good thing  or a bad thing?

This is a nail biting, chills running up your spine, suspenseful story.  Your brain will be working overtime to find the secrets that will solve THE mystery.  Aside from all the suspense is an on and off romance between Amy and Ben, with littIe Raine in the middle.

I get really into the books I'm reading and forget sometimes that the characters can't hear me giving them some well needed advice.

This author never seems to let me down when I read one of her books and I have read several of them.  All winners, in my opinion.

I highly recommend not only this book but this series and especially this author.

I rated this book a 5 out of 5.

Safe in His Arms ~ Under Texas Stars Series # 2 ~ by Colleen Coble

About Safe in His Arms

Sometimes it takes a stranger to see you as you really are.
Under Texas Stars, Book 2

Born and raised on sprawling Texas land, Margaret O'Brien prides herself on her competence as a rancher. But her father believes she's made for more than just dawn-to-dusk work. He wants her to have the love of a good man, to raise children, to build a life. But Margaret gave up such dreams years ago. She's convinced no man would have her, that the ranch is her life now.

So when Margaret's father hires Daniel Cutler as a new foreman, she's frustrated and suspicious. Then an overheard conversation links him with a gang of bank robbers, and she's downright worried. Daniel swears he's not involved, but Margaret's not convinced. She knows the man still has secrets. But would a criminal be so kind and talk so convincingly of his faith? As a series of tragic "accidents" threatens all she holds dear, Margaret must decide what to trust: her own ears, her best judgment . . . or what her heart keeps telling her.

Check out my post and review on Book 1, Blue Moon Promise here.

My Thoughts on Safe in His Arms

Margaret O'Brien has been raised in Texas on a ranch of all men with the exception of the woman that has worked for the family long before she was born.  In fact the woman had been her mother's  personal maid before she married her Margaret's father.

Margaret has been in charge of the ranch for some time and loved every minute of the work. She worked just as hard as any of the top ranch hands.

Margaret thinks herself to be awkward looking and  plain therefore not likely to ever marry for love.  Her love is the ranch and sees herself in the role of a woman rancher even after her father is dead and buried.  But her dream of the future is about to change.

Margaret's father had not told Margaret he had other plans for her future and the ranch was not likely to be part of that future.  Until they arrive in town and she finds out her father hired a complete stranger to be foreman on the ranch which position she had already considered to be her job.  Then her father tells her she is to become a proper woman and will not be working along side the ranch hands any longer.  No matter how much head butting she does with her father he stands by his decision.

Daniel Cutler, the new foreman was not what she had expected, he did not look as if he had ever worked with his hand much less knew anything about ranching.  This made her very suspicious of his of his motives.  She is thinking he might just be scoping out the ranch or the town as part of a gang of thieves.  How can Daniel convince Margaret that he is a safe haven for her without revealing that he is a Texas Ranger undercover. He has faith in God to protect Margaret and bring the gang to justice.

Book two of Under Texas Stars series is just as exciting as book one, Blue Moon Promise.  Margaret is accepting Nate and Lucy's love for each other. She now cherishes a friendship with them that has almost healed her heart.  Each book works as stand alone but it is nice knowing the story about Nate and Lucy.

Margaret reminds me of the ugly duckling that was unable to see it's own beauty.

The author wrote a story full of mystery, suspense, and an unfolding of love, blossoming into a beautiful romance.  Colleen also has a pattern in her writings of empowering the woman in her novels with tenacity and courage.   Most importantly, safe in His arms, a reconciliation with God under Texas stars.

I highly recommend this book.

I rated this book a 5 out of 5.

My Thoughts

Libby has a passion for historical restoration. Her partner is onsite of a potential restoration on Hope Island. Libby is two hours away from Hope Island as she is talking to her partner Nicole. Nicole is not only her partner she is her best friend since childhood. Nicole tells her that Libby has inherited the Tidewater Inn on Hope Island from her deceased father whom she thought had died when she was five years old, but come to find out he just passed away recently. Not only that she has a half-sister and half-brother. This was unreal for Libby to imagine. Then withing minutes of talking to Nicole she witnesses on a webcam her friend being kidnapped.

Could things get anymore complicated for Libby. She heads for Hope Island as soon as she reports to the police of her friends kidnapping. When she finally arrives at the island she talks to the local police, then asshe is making her way to Tidewater Inn she meets a handsome Coast Guard Lieutenant. She finds herself very attracted to him. But she has too many things to deal with besides an attraction to a man.

As the investigation in her friends kidnapping get's under way she becomes a suspect. This woman has so much on her plate I don't know how she keeps her sanity. She has the best help anyone could hope for and that is faith and trust in God to give her strength. Even though her new siblings do not trust her or care to have anything to do with her, there are others that do care and she can depend on them to believe in her and to pray for her and her missing friend.

She falls in love with Tidewater Inn and sees so much potential in her new home if she only had the money to complete a restoration on the place.  But as it stands she might have to put it up for sale.

This author has always been able to pull me into her books. She has done so in this book also. This book is suspenseful, heart wrenching, inspirational and romantic.  Although I did think it was a little unbelievable about the circumstances of her friend Nicole it was still an amazing read.

I highly recommend this book.

I rate this book a 5 out of 5.

My Thoughts:
Ever since the untimely death of Lucy Marsh's father, danger has been on her door step.  In order to flee this danger she accepts a proxy marriage when an old friend of her father's, Henry Stanton shows up offering her marriage to his son.  She feels as if this is her only chance to care for herself and especially her young brother and sister. But most of all to keep them out of harms way.

When she arrives in Texas things are not quite what she was led to believe. It seems as if her and her new husband, Nate Stanton have been hood winked by her new father-in-law.  Also it seems as if the danger she hoped to leave behind has followed her. Now it is Nate's responsibility to keep his new found family safe.
What would he be willing to give up to protect them?

The character of Lucy is a petite young woman that knows nothing about ranching but is more than determined to prove herself.  She had no idea how tasking a job it would be.  It seemed like every time she turned around her new husband was having to come to her rescue.  Had she made a mistake thinking he would accept her when she herself felt like such a failure.  She clung to her faith and the word of God and   she prayed fervently for God's will in this marriage.

Nate's character at first was not very nice but when the truth of situation came to light he was very much the gentleman and was determined to take care of his new family.  He found Lucy's trials in becoming a ranchers wife amusing and exhausting at times.  He was more patient with her than she was of herself.  He was also very patient and caring toward her brother and sister.  He was proving to be a good example for her brother and father image to both her brother and sister.

This is a wonderful story of faith, love and acceptance in a growing relationship between two people.  There are some shocking evidence that pops up out of the blue and hearts are broken.  But with faith and love hearts will forgive and heal with God's help.

I highly recommend this book.

I gladly rate this book a 5 out of 5.

Review: Lonestar Angel (Lonestar #4) by Colleen Coble

About author:
RITA finalist Colleen Coble lives with her husband, Dave, in Indiana. She is the author of several novels including Abomination, the Rock Harbor Series, the Aloha Reef Series, and two Women of Faith fiction selections, Alaska Twilight and Midnight Sea. Her newest novel, Anathema, is in stores now.

You can find Colleen Coble here.

Lonestar Angel (Lonestar #4)
by Colleen Coble

Paperback, 320 pages
Published November 8th 2011 by Thomas Nelson
(first published November 1st 2011)
ISBN 1595542698 (ISBN13: 9781595542694)
series Lonestar #4

For Eden, hope is rekindled when her estranged husband delivers the astounding news: that their lost baby girl has been found.

Years ago Eden and Clay Larson's baby was stolen. Kidnappers demanded a ransom, but something went horribly wrong at the exchange: the kidnapper's car crashed into the river and was never recovered. Eden blamed herself, Clay lost himself in work. Their young and rocky marriage ended. Or so Eden thought.

Now she's met Kent. He's everything Clay wasn't: funny, stable, and eager to please her. Just as he's about to propose marriage at a romantic dinner, Clay arrives and tells Eden she can't marry Kent. She's still married to him. He never signed the divorce decree. Even more earth-shattering than this news is that he's never stopped looking for Brianna. Based on a tip, he thinks their daughter is in Bluebird, Texas, at a youth ranch. All five little girls there are the right age, but he's not sure which is Brianna.

To discover the truth, the couple becomes counselors to the girls at Bluebird Ranch. They move into small quarters in the bunkhouse and oversee the kids as they try to find out more. As they work together, their love for the children grows and their love for each other is rekindled. But as danger closes in, Eden and Clay realize they've been lured to this remote West Texas location; their lives and the lives of the little girls are in danger. But as Eden learns, "hope does not disappoint."

My Thoughts:
Eden and Clay Larson are torn apart after their six weeks old baby is kidnapped and pronounced dead without finding her body. Eden files for divorce and tries to build a new life. But Clay refuses to give up on looking for his daughter even after five years. Clay gets a lead about his daughter and confronts Eden with a link to finding Brianna. They sign up as counselors for young girls at the Bluebird Ranch. They meet with so many obstacles trying to find their child. Letting nothing stand in the way.

This is a beautiful story of unending love and determination to keep a family together. The author brings out such a powerful connection between God and the characters. The suspense will have your head in the book until the very end.

This is book four in this series and I have read one through three also. Each and everyone of these books take place at the Bluebird Ranch, an amazing place for children to come to heal emotionally while interacting with abandoned and unwanted horses.

I highly recommend this series.

I rate this book a 5 out of 5

What Are You Reading Today

Before I get started I wanted to share with my viewers what has been going on the past few days. I think I put too much on my plate and went into shutdown mode. I have problems with afibralation of the heart and it was really raising its head this past week. I am on meds for this and I missed a couple of days. Not in a row but within the week. Now, condemned for his evil passions and hypocrisy, he wanders the earth a vampire, cursed with first-hand knowledge of the supernatural world he once denied existed. For help in this quest, Raphael must enlist the aid of two humans, David and Susan, who suddenly find themselves immersed in a world they never imagined, entangled with supernatural forces they can't control. Susan, in particular, finds herself conflicted as she struggles with her inexplicable attraction to Raphael. Cherished
by Kim Cash Tate

How can she believe God cherishes her when she can't forgive herself?

Kelli London once dreamed of being a songwriter. As crazy as it seemed, she hoped that God would use the lyrics that came to her while she slept. She dreamed about Brian too, that the love they shared would be a forever kind of love. But choices she'll forever regret upended her hope . . . and turned her dreams to dust. When those dreams come knocking once more, she's forced to deal with the pain of the past.

Heather Anderson's life has spun out of control-first, an affair with a married man, then a one-night stand with the drummer of a popular Christian band that left her devastated. Broken and alone, she cried out to the only One who can save her. And He did. But that's just the beginning, because now she must leave behind the only life she's ever known.

Two women with shame-filled pasts form an unlikely friendship. What does God's forgiveness look like for them? Will they ever believe that He loves them . . . and can still offer them a life where they are cherished?

Cry in the Night (Rock Harbor Series #4)
by Colleen Coble
The highly anticipated novel that delivers what romantic suspense fans have long awaited-the return to Rock Harbor.

A mysterious crying in the night leads search-and-rescue worker Bree Matthews and her dog Samson to an abandoned baby in the woods outside of Rock Harbor, Michigan. Against objections from her husband, Bree takes the baby girl in. Quickly she begins a search for the mother-presumably the woman reported missing just days earlier.

The Sweetest Thing by Elizabeth Musser
With the Great Depression swirling all around them, the affluent Singletons remain affluent. The fictional family, last seen in Elizabeth Musser's The Swan House, continues their carefree life with its rounds of dances and socials and afternoons out at the cinema. Into this protected bubble drops Mary "Dobbs" Dillard, a minister's daughter with radical ideas. Her improbable intersection with Perri Singleton at Atlanta's prestigious Washington Seminary changes both their lives and shows that the chemistry of opposites can sometimes cause awe-inspiring results. A faith-based novel with resonance.

by Shannon Stacey
Sean Kowalski no sooner leaves the army than he’s recruited by Emma Shaw to be her fake fiancé. Emma needs to produce a husband-to-be for her grandmother’s upcoming visit, and, though Sean doesn’t like the deception, he could use the landscaping job Emma’s offering while he decides what to do with his civilian life. And, despite his attraction to Emma, there’s no chance he’ll fall for a woman with deep roots in a town he’s not planning to call home.

Emma’s not interested in a real relationship either; not with a man whose idea of home is wherever he drops his duffel bag. No matter how amazing his “pretend” kisses are…

The Apothecary, paranormal romance/urban fantasy/chick lit/paranormal/romance (A Secret in the Attic) by Samantha Jillian Bayarr
When Claire Mayfield suddenly finds herself the new heir of a property that has lain vacant for over one hundred years, she becomes leery of the rumors of the hauntings from the three young children who were said to have been murdered there. With a little encouragement from Ben, the lawyer who breaks the news of the inheritance to her, Claire agrees to explore the manor, but only on the condition that Ben accompanies her. Finding her attractive, he accepts the challenge, and the two embark on an adventure that will forever change their lives.
Despite a few distractions and bumps along the way, Claire discovers her great uncle, Dr. Blackwell's, apothecary and traveling medicine show from the late 1800's, and even stumbles upon clues that could help her solve her ancestor's one hundred-year-old murder-mystery—all with a little help from a mischievous young girl who has been dead for over one hundred years.
Written with the paranormal fiction fan in mind, this book offers a peek into the world of a ghost, and ignites the imagination, allowing the reader to experience paranormal communication within its pages. Because the young ghost’s feelings, emotions and worries are conveyed in a very real light, the reader will be drawn to her story, crying when she cries and smiling when she triumphs.
This book presents a unique twist, as it appeals to a wide audience, offering a murder–mystery, romance, and a paranormal experience all in one book.
